The Smithfield approach towards resilience is clear - resilience is a set of behaviours and competencies combined with an attitude of optimism and self-efficacy, all of which can be improved through knowledge acquisition, training, coaching and practice.
The Smithfield Resilience Assessment is a measure of personal resilience. The authors of the assessment are Dr. Joe Jordan of Smithfield Performance, and Professor Sue Cartwright from Manchester Business School. The purpose of the assessment is to provide an idea of ones current level of resilience.
We know that our succeptibility to stress can increase when we go through a period of low resilience. Likewise, our motivation, work performance, job satisfaction and career engagement can improve dramatically when we go through a period of high personal resilience.
This assessment measures a range of personal resilience factors including:

- Resilient Behaviours
- Work Life Balance
- Lifestyle factors
It is benchmarked against the general working population and the profile is presented in percentile format.
